What is ClassPass?
ClassPass is a platform where all exercise-related classes or passes can be purchased as credits, and these credits are then used to register for each class.
For instance, a yoga class at 10 a.m. at a studio may require 5 credits, while the same yoga class at a different studio may only need 2 credits.
Interestingly, the required number of credits can fluctuate depending on the class time. From my experience, I've found that classes held between 7-9 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. require the most credits and are often the hardest to book.
Furthermore, within a single studio, the required credits can vary depending on the instructor or the type of lesson.

Advantage
The benefits of this system include:
Potential cost savings compared to a monthly pass for a specific studio
The opportunity to experience a variety of classes across multiple studios within a month.
Disadvantage
On the flip side, there are a few drawbacks:
A lack of a sense of belonging
A diminished ability to bond with the instructors
The potential for less personalized attention to your poses or postures.
ClassPass' 2-week free trial offer
You'll get free credits to try activities like yoga, pilates, cycling and gym visits from some of our top-rated businesses for 14 days.
The trial provides you with the flexibility to experiment with any class within the limit of 43 free credits. I used up all of my 43 credits and even purchased an additional 2 credits for $6. A limitation of this trial is that revisiting the same studio is not permitted. The goal of ClassPass is to offer you the opportunity over a 2-week period to find a studio or class that fits your needs. After the 2 weeks, an $89.00 membership, equivalent to 43 credits, is automatically billed.
If the 2-week free trial piques your interest, you can receive an additional 20 credits as a bonus by using the link below.
10 different classes over a 14-day period
During the 14-day trial, I attended a total of 10 classes, primarily in the Manhattan/Brooklyn areas of New York. My focus was on indoor cycling, otherwise known as spinning classes and yoga. I will be documenting my experience over the two-week period in two parts, reviewing each studio and class I visited during the first and second weeks.
Following the trial, my plan is to explore yoga studios primarily in Manhattan, New York. Interestingly, about 80% of the yoga studios I am interested in are registered with ClassPass. For those that are not, I intend to take advantage of the New Student Benefit that many studios offer.
*The New Student Benefit allows new visitors to the studio to take unlimited classes for a period of about one week, two weeks, or even a month at a discounted rate. I found that this benefit was commonly offered across many yoga studios in New York.
